Equality and Accessibility
At Ankermoor Primary Academy, we welcome our duties under the Equality Act 2010 to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations in relation to race, disability, sex (gender), age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, pregnancy, maternity and gender reassignment. We welcome our duty under the Education and Inspectors Act 2006 to promote community cohesion. We recognise that these duties reflect International Human Rights standards as expressed in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the UN Convention on the Rights of the People with Disabilities, and the Human Rights Act 1998.
Our Objectives for this year are:
To further develop strategies to identify vulnerable learners and understand their needs, targeting provision to meet these needs.
To increase writing opportunities within the new national curriculum and develop approaches to inspire boys especially in writing.
To support pupils with awareness of e-safety, bullying, homophobic bullying and racism, specifically focussing on the Unicef's Rights Respecting School agenda.
