Forest School sessions are an opportunity for the children to experience nature and the outdoor environment in a safe, secure and hands on way.
So far, the children have built dens, climbed trees and used a selection of tools. For some children, the experience has included collecting firewood and then safely building and lighting a fire. Once the fire burns, children are able to toast marshmallows on their homemade marshmallow skewers!
Our site is forever changing. So far, we have erected an outdoor classroom, have a huge mud kitchen and even a tyre swing. We are excited for our Forest School journey as a setting. We believe that the life skills our children are gaining from participating in our sessions are invaluable. We have many parents, who have supported us on our way so and huge thank you for their ongoing support!
Mrs Walton, our Forest School Lead, has worked tirelessly to ensure our children are given an amazing experience, giving up her weekends and her holidays to craft this amazing area.
Mrs Walton commented: 'Seeing the children develop their life skills during our Enrichment Friday has been invaluable and has provided them with an exciting experience outside of the classroom. I cannot wait to further develop the area and plan to have more sessions as the school grows and develops further.
